[back]

heycapy is free to self-host, forever. this page is only about capy credits on app.heycapy.xyz, the hosted version. they pay for the ai that answers you. you can buy them in the app, in tweaks → credits. this is what they cost.

credit packs

  • $5 → 600 credits. that's 0.83¢ per message. in india you pay ₹480, about ₹0.80 per message (₹0.68 before tax).
  • $10 → 1,400 credits. that's 0.71¢ per message. in india you pay ₹960, about ₹0.69 per message (₹0.58 before tax).

taxes are included in the price, so what you see is what you pay. the tax goes to the government and not to me. in india it's 18% gst, so about ₹73 of the ₹480 is tax. no subscription, and credits don't expire. new accounts start with 15 free credits, and the getting started guide gives up to 50 more as you try things out. refunds are limited, see the refunds page.

prices last updated 7 october 2026. if the ai gets more expensive or the rupee moves a lot, i may change them. a new price only applies to later purchases. credits you already bought keep their full value, and i'll email you a few days before anything changes.

what's a message?

one message is one thing you send to capy: typed, by voice or on telegram. it uses one credit, short or long. adding items yourself with the form costs nothing, and when your credits run out your reminders keep coming. only capy pauses, until you add credits or your own ai key.

how long does it last?

say you use capy for everything, 20 messages a day, and never add anything by hand. that's a lot. the 600 credit pack still lasts about 30 days, and the 1,400 credit pack about 70 days. most people will use way less than that.

how i set the price

right now a message costs me about a quarter of a cent on average, and the longest ones a bit under one cent. i'm trying to keep a safe gap between what the ai costs me and what you pay, so even most long chats cost less than what you paid for. i don't want to come back asking for more money. i measured those numbers in october 2026, and i'll send an email a few days before anything changes.

buying credits is also how the hosted version keeps running. it pays for the ai and the servers.

the ai is google's gemini for now. payments go through dodo payments.

your own key

you never have to buy credits. add your own openai, anthropic, groq or gemini key in tweaks → ai and capy works the same, no credits used. you pay the ai company directly.
